Koala Backpack and Bag

Hello! I want to share with you this pattern to make a mini koala backpack which can also be turned into a little crossbody bag with the way we'll place the strap, it is a very very easy and quick project and the kids are gonna love it! We'll use yarn of any color you choose for your main color, I chose beige, black for the eyes and brown for the nose. We are also going to need a button, a little bit of white felt, tapestry needle, crochet hook 4 mm and 3 mm. You can change the yarn weight as you like and the hook accordingly keeping in mind it will change the final size of your backpack. Mine is about 19 cm / 7,5 inches just the koala portion, plus the straps that will be as long as you wish to make them.

My Go To Bag

Straps 26 inches long and 2 inches wide Bag 17 inches long by 15 inches wide when measured on a flat surface Handle Drop 14 inches My Go To Bag is my practical, everyday crocheted bag. I wanted a bag I could use for everything - from beach bag to book bag - a single crocheted base gives this bag extra support - the first few rounds are crocheted in double crochet and then the main bag is worked up in an easy to work granny stitch stripe pattern. I chose to make my straps slightly wider than most bags because when you fill the bag and the straps stretch, they will remain comfortable on your shoulders. If you would like to have a narrower strap, it is very easy to change the width of the strap. Simply add one extra decrease repeat of: Sc2tog, 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts, sc2tog. Ch 1, turn. 4 in place of R11 of the straps and for R80 work: 2 sc in the first st, 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts, 2 sc in the last st, ch 1, turn. 6. Have fun making this simple, attractive and practical Go To Bag! You can substitute any yarn and hook for this stitch pattern - just remember when you substitute if your gauge is different, the finished size of your project will also be different.

Thermal Stitch Crochet Crossbody Bag Strap

The thermal stitch creates a nice and sturdy strap for crochet bags! This pattern walks you through the process of adding a strap to your favorite crochet bags and even explains how to crochet onto a D ring or split key ring for added durability.

The thermal stitch, like any crochet stitch, will stretch a little bit, but it is a tried and true method for making robust bag straps.

Classic Crossbody Bag

Bags come in all various sizes and styles, but crossbody bags are our favorite. This Classic Crossbody Bag is easy to carry and big enough to fit your daily essentials, and then some. This style of bag eliminates possible shoulder pain that over-the-shoulder purses usually can cause. Use any color yarn you want to complete this free crochet pattern. Straps are attached from the inside of the bag. Once you've completed the pattern, you can add a variety of embellishments including a zipper, decorative button, fabric lining, or a snap closure.

With just a small section of tapestry crochet worked in just 2 colors, this would make a great introduction to this fabulous color technique! Full color graph is provided for the tapestry crochet section of the bag as well. At approximately 8” tall (excluding strap) x 13” wide, this bag is the perfect everyday go-to size. Line and add a zipper, if desired. Optional d-rings are crocheted directly to the bag for ease of construction and then strap is sewn to d-rings at the end. Strap is a retro chevron design to mimic the diamond design element of the bag. As written, strap is approximately 37” long once sewn to bag allowing the bag to be worn cross-body.
