Family Beanie Hats Crochet Pattern
The holidays are always a time when I do a little extra for the ones I love. Because what's a holiday without your loved ones? If you're looking for a way to show you care, the custom beanies make a thoughtful gift for the whole family this season. They're affordable and unisex so you can make them for everyone! I made mine in colors that look great on everyone too: cream and navy. I made the adult size in the rich blue with white trim and a white pom pom. Then, to switch things up a little I made the children's size (which typically fits 2-4yrs) in a cream with navy trim.

"In this tutorial, I'll be teaching you the braid stitch. You have the option of using one or two colors. Warning, if are using two colors, your secondary color may show through, I personally like that. The materials that will be using today are a 5 mm crochet hook and Caron Simply Soft which is a worsted weight yarn one in the color Iceland blue and bone. I chose Caron Simply Soft because it works perfectly with this stitch. All #4 worsted weight yarns are not the same. The stitches lay flatter with a light worsted weight yarn. With heavier #4 worsted weight yarn such as red heart Super Saver, the stitches came out bulkier. The choice is yours. Winter Trellis Beanie pattern
This pattern is for the beanie/chemo cap only. Beanie is approx. 7 1/2 inches in length (top-bottom) and approx. 20inches in circumference. This is an adult female size. Rows 1 - 7 is the crown and measures approx. 7in x 7in. To get your gauge, complete the crown (rows 1 - 7) and then measure the circumference. You may need to go up a hook size and/or use a looser tension if your crown is smaller than 7 x 7 or go down a hook size if you have looser tension and your crown is larger than 7 x 7.
