"In this tutorial, I'll be teaching you the braid stitch. You have the option of using one or two colors. Warning, if are using two colors, your secondary color may show through, I personally like that. The materials that will be using today are a 5 mm crochet hook and Caron Simply Soft which is a worsted weight yarn one in the color Iceland blue and bone. I chose Caron Simply Soft because it works perfectly with this stitch. All #4 worsted weight yarns are not the same. The stitches lay flatter with a light worsted weight yarn. With heavier #4 worsted weight yarn such as red heart Super Saver, the stitches came out bulkier. The choice is yours. Crochet Braided Headband
"Create this pretty crochet braided headband with h hook and this can be adjusted for any size. I uploaded a video if you need more help. I love how this nice pattern turned out with the Caron soft yarn. This beautiful headband is great to wear during the cold months and makes for wonderful Christmas gifts. I love how it looks like a braid when it's all finished. I think it would look neat with different colors of yarn too. "
Zipper Braid Beanie
"This free beanie pattern uses double crochet and hairpin lace to create a braided accent strip that looks like the hat was zipped closed. Not a project for beginners, advanced or intermediate crochet skill level recommended. Project uses Caron Simply Soft yarn, Size I (5.5mm) Crochet Hook, and a Hairpin Lace Loom. Detailed photo tutorial included with pattern. Great project for fall or winter accessories, and would coordinate well with a hairpin lace scarf or cowl. "

Light Me Up Crochet Snowman Hat
From the blogger: "This Light Me Up Crochet Snowman Hat is a fast and fun hat pattern for a whimsical snowman! If you or someone you know love snowmen, then this hat would be perfect. This pattern works up quickly in bulky yarn for the main body of the snowman. The pattern as written fits adults, but these instructions can easily be resized; that way, you can make one for the whole family! The design is worked from the bottom up in one piece, so the only sewing you need is to add buttons, the nose, and the top of the hat. If you choose not to stuff the head of the snowman, the head can fit over a hair bun very easily! Have fun with this snowman, and make him your own: add a mouth or even change up the colors!
Simple Post Hat Free Crochet Pattern
"This hat is perfect for both girls and boys and can be crocheted quickly. All you need is medium weight yarn and a 5.5 mm (I) hook to work up this project. You can add a pretty flower embellishment, or even a pom pom for some extra style or make the hat exactly as it is. I have included 2 written instructions for 10 sizes, ranging from baby to adult and 2 different lengths. The sample is crocheted using Red Heart Super Saver in Oatmeal. You can easily customize this hat to other head sizes too. If you need to increase the hat for a larger head size you can add an extra increase or two at the beginning; approximately 3 stitches equals 1 inch. If you want to make this hat longer (slouchy) this is also easy to do - for every extra inch you want to increase, add two rounds in the repeat section. Have fun!"
