My Color Pop Beanie is worked in the round from the top down. The brim is worked separately in rows and then sewn to the hat. It's a fun and easy hat pattern. I think it would be good for beginner crocheters who want to practice color changes. I'm not the best at putting colors together so I searched for a fun color palette and used yarn colors that were similar to the colors in the palette. I broke the colors up with 2 rounds of white between them. I really like how it turned out.

Nordic Ice Beanie
"This Nordic Ice Beanie is made using worsted weight yarn (Lion Brand's Feels Like Butta in Ice and White) and a G 4mm crochet hook. The ribbing is worked flat and then joined in the round. The hat is then worked in the round with two rounds of half double crochet (hdc) followed by a round of hdc puff stitches. You can change colors like I did or make the hat in one solid color. You also have the option of leaving the pom pom off (I just happen to love the look of poms) if you prefer that look. "

"This hat uses a unique stitch combination to create a woven appearance. Hat is worked side-to-side in rows to make a rectangle which is then folded together, seamed and top of hat sewn together. Hat is worked by alternating colors from two yarn cakes or by working both ends of the same yarn cake, switching colors every second row. Perfect pairing with self-striping yarn but could also be made in a single color or with alternating two solid colors. No worries about a ton of ends to weave in at the end with the color changes as yarn is dropped and then pulled back into work at the end. Yarn floats are covered in the seaming process!
