Double Waffle Crochet Baby Blanket

Afghans and Blankets

I would like to share with you my latest creation - this little Double Waffle Crochet Baby Blanket. It turned out so soft and squishy with a beautiful spongy texture. I used the Double Waffle Crochet stitch and I love the texture it has created. I didn’t make any border around the blanket as I like it as it is. But I can imagine a simple border in white or even the same colour would look pretty cute too.. Materials used: light worsted weight yarn and 4.5mm crochet hook.

Soft And Sweet Textured Velvet Crochet Blanket

Afghans and Blankets

"This soft and sweet textured velvet crochet blanket feels like it should be used in an expensive hotel SPA. Use modern crochet stitches paired with Bernat Baby Velvet yarn to crochet this luxurious throw. Soft and Squishy Afghan The combination of front post double crochet and back post double crochet paired with this silky yarn create a soft and squishy Afghan. When my daughter ran her hands across this blanket, she snuggled her face against the yarn. She said the fluffy and soft blanket was the plushest feeling one yet. We think it is because of the added texture created by the crochet stitches and the fluffy yarn. Pair this bulky yarn with the right stitch and you have a winner. The pattern is a two-row repeat consisting of a row of single crochet, which ads a bit of stability to the entire project. The next row uses a special stitch pattern alternating the front post double crochet and back post double crochet stitches."

This blanket consists of 5 different black and white designs. Making 4 of each square. When I started making this blanket, there was no end plan in mind. Once I got the hang of crocheting a granny square, I just started pairing the black and white in different styles. I love how they turned out.

One thing every household needs? A good Waffle Stitch crochet blanket, that's what! This waffle blanket pattern makes for a squishy, comfortable throw you can cuddle up under to read a good book, spend time with the family, or watch an episode of your favorite show. The waffle is one of my favorite crochet stitches for blankets. The way the waffle stitch pattern works up, it creates a thick, warm fabric - perfect for people that are always cold!

Arcade Waffle Blanket Free Crochet Pattern

Afghans and Blankets

"The Arcade Waffle Crochet Blanket is a combination of two beautiful stitches. The raised texture of the waffle stitch is balanced by the stunning look of an arcade stitch border. A while ago I figured out how to turn the arcade stitch into a blanket border. I just loved how it looked, but sadly it required a complex stitch count and would not work on many blankets. You need a stitch count of 6+3 on each side for the blanket for the border to work."
