Small Gift Bag

This small gift bag is perfect for holding that little gift you want to surprise someone with, great size to fit a small jewelry box. It’s made with all half double crochet stitches so it’s easy and works up quickly. Use a single color if you like, or change colors every few rounds for a nice “scrap busting” project. Also looks great with self striping yarn. Pattern calls for worsted weight yarn and a size H hook, but could easily be adapted for different weight of yarn, just use a hook size appropriate for your yarn choice. Happy hooking!

My Go To Bag

Straps 26 inches long and 2 inches wide Bag 17 inches long by 15 inches wide when measured on a flat surface Handle Drop 14 inches My Go To Bag is my practical, everyday crocheted bag. I wanted a bag I could use for everything - from beach bag to book bag - a single crocheted base gives this bag extra support - the first few rounds are crocheted in double crochet and then the main bag is worked up in an easy to work granny stitch stripe pattern. I chose to make my straps slightly wider than most bags because when you fill the bag and the straps stretch, they will remain comfortable on your shoulders. If you would like to have a narrower strap, it is very easy to change the width of the strap. Simply add one extra decrease repeat of: Sc2tog, 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts, sc2tog. Ch 1, turn. 4 in place of R11 of the straps and for R80 work: 2 sc in the first st, 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts, 2 sc in the last st, ch 1, turn. 6. Have fun making this simple, attractive and practical Go To Bag! You can substitute any yarn and hook for this stitch pattern - just remember when you substitute if your gauge is different, the finished size of your project will also be different. My Go To Bag

Simple Stripes Tote Bag

Bags are my favorite thing to design and make. They are just so fun and functional! For moms on the go in particular, we need a bag to put our own purse in, as well as snacks, a water bottle, maybe a coloring pad and crayons. No worries, mom, this bag will fit all that! It measures 14″ by 12″ and has a generously sized shoulder strap, measuring 2-1/2″ wide. Perhaps one of my favorite thing about crocheting up a bag, is when you are a little ways done with it, you have a place for your ball(s) of yarn! Cotton yarn makes a really sturdy, easy to wash bag, and is fairly inexpensive. This project is also a great way to use your “economical” (perhaps a little bit scratchy) acrylic yarn. This is a fairly simple, easy to work up bag, so it's accessible to crocheters of all levels. Happy hooking!

Inventive Messenger Bag

"This crochet bag is a slightly different one from the "Inventive Bag" that I shared before. Someone else wanted a bag exactly as the Inventive bag but to be used as a messenger bag and with a larger size so I added a strap and more rows. In this one I didn't use back loop stitches, I made more rows so there are 20 for each color section. I cross stitched holding two yarns togethers instead of one, didn't sc around in the end each piece separately, I couldn't line it yet but It is fine as it is, I think. I also steam blocked it. And after that process I steam blocked every crochet product I find at home. I loved it. "Inventive Messenger Bag

Pineapple Soap Cozy (or Small Gift Bag)

"I thought the criss crossed diamond stitch pattern was appropriate for the pattern/texture of a pineapple. This little bag is excellent for using as a soap cozy (gift a homemade soap with it!), candy/favor pouch (for a tropical party!) or as a gift bag (gift with some Summer themed earrings). You'll need about 70 yards of worsted weight yarn. I used Lily Sugar n Cream for my bag. If your bag will be a soap cozy, you want cotton yarn, but as a gift/favor bag, any yarn works. For reference, I had my bag ready in about an hour."Pineapple Soap Cozy (or Small Gift Bag)
