This purse was inspired by the awesome JUL strap I was asked to review. I had some Berroco Indigo yarn left over from another project and they just seemed to fit together so well. I'd been thinking of making a granny square style purse for a while now, and everything finally came together to make that happen. I was so inspired by the results that I took the time to line it, which is an easy final touch that you can choose to do as well.

Chasing Diamonds Bag
This bag is just so fun, retro and chic! Perfect hand bag with a cross body chevron strap. With just a small section of tapestry crochet worked in just 2 colors, this would make a great introduction to this fabulous color technique! Full color graph is provided for the tapestry crochet section of the bag as well. At approximately 8” tall (excluding strap) x 13” wide, this bag is the perfect everyday go-to size. Crochet Bag Handles pattern
Here's another pattern to make a non-stretchy crochet strap: using fishing line! I think the best thing about using fishing line to make sure your crochet strap is non-stretchy is that it doesn't add a whole lot of fiddling about with your project.
You won't have to make extra pieces or do anything fancy. Just make sure the fishing line follows along with each stitch and you're all set to go.

"This tote bag is comprised up of floral afghan squares that were inspired by Hydrangeas, and also features a beautiful ribbed pattern. As far as the lining goes, in the past, I have crocheted other tote bags that I chose not to line, and I ended up really disappointed with how much they stretched out, so I made sure with this one that I added a lining to the bag itself, and the strap. I highly recommend if you will be carrying around anything with a little weight. I used Red Heart Super Saver, which is a pretty durable yarn, however, I think a cotton yarn such as Lily Sugar n Cream would have been a better option for something that will keep a lot of use, and dragged around from one place to another. The cotton option will also make the bag a little larger."
