Dandelion Tunic Dress

Kids and Babies

This simple tunic pattern was designed with speed and ease in mind. Somehow, even amid the usual chaos of life with a toddler, it practically flew off my hook. That's why I named it the Dandelion Tunic- it seemed as if it popped up almost overnight! Considering how incredibly fast little ones grow at this age, that's very important. I purposefully simplified the ribbing by using only front post stitches. I added a row of pretty little eyelets as well, to give the dress a hint of lightness. The improvised eyelets up top do double duty- they add a bit of breezy elegance, and help shape the yoke without using slower, bulkier decrease stitches. This dress will use just half a skein of Caron One Pound Yarn in the 4T size.

Easy Toddler Dress

Kids and Babies

"It is a funny thing how fast time flies. I had this toddler dress crocheted, pattern tested and ready to go a year ago. But I kept putting different patterns out before it until it was winter and a little too cold for this dress. So this cute little dress hung in my craft room until this fall where I had to remake it because little girls grow fast! For this dress, you will need to know how to chain, double crochet, and increase. The ruffle sleeves require that you know how to make a magic circle but I have a simplified method you can learn easily."

Crochet Baby Romper / Tunic

Crochet Baby Romper / Tunic

This is another really smart crochet pattern design. It can be made into a baby romper, with closed legs, or left open as a dress. As a dress, it can be made to be worn alone or as more of a tunic top with leggings. The instructions for the romper pattern start at age 0 and go up to age 2, with additional tunic instructions for ages up to 8. This is definitely a crochet pattern to bookmark and use more than once.
