Child Hat and Cowl Set

This free crochet hat and cowl pattern is designed with the independent child in mind. Yep! No more fussing about that little bit of exposed skin when your child's jacket is zipped but not zipped up all the way. This cowl has them (and you) covered. I used Plymouth Encore yarn: Worsted and Colorspun. Crochet hooks: 4.5mm and 5mm This crochet pattern is sized for a child with a head circumference of 17-19 (43cm - 48cm)

The Honeycomb Cowl is worked in the honeycomb stitch, which is a combination of TSS and TPS stitches alternatively worked across the row. T-shirt Yarn Cowl Free Crochet Pattern

"Add some Pizzazz with this T-Shirt Yarn Cowl. Fun beginner crochet project. If you can make a chain stitch and single crochet, you can make this in an afternoon. This crochet cowl is worked flat and joined at the end. If you are a beginner, I think this is a great way to start making crochet scarves and cowls. I made this fun cowl in two colors. While you can purchase your t-shirt yarn, this can be made from old t-shirts too. While I have not tried this yet, I have seen a number of tutorials."

Kelsey Cowl

"Go big with texture and versatility with the Kelsey Cowl. This design is an easy bottom up cowl that you can make larger or smaller, the multiple is listed in the pattern. The drawstring section adds a nice bit of design complexity but can be omitted if you'd like just a simple straight forward cowl. No matter how you make it, this design will make a great addition to your winter wardrobe. You can also leave the pom pom off if you'd prefer."

Herringbone Buttoned Cowl

"To kick off the season of apple crisp and hayrides, here is a beautiful lightweight cowl: the Herringbone Buttoned Cowl. This is a snug little piece of neckwear that is perfect for layering! On a cool day, it looks great worn with a shirt and jeans. On a colder evening, tuck it under your winterwear and let the ribbed collar peek out - the bottom of the cowl is nice and flat, so it won't add bulk under your coat!"

If you're looking for a fun crochet project that looks great with just about any outfit, this project is perfect for you. You might even find yourself making a few cowls for your friends too!"

Herringstone Cowl

"I love soft, warm neck wear in winter. What could be better than a super warm cowl made out of just one 8 oz. skein of super soft Hygge yarn from Red Heart? This pattern is worked in a spiral until you run out of yarn so you literally have nothing to count, no stitches to mark (unless you want to of course), and involves minimal thought. This one uses the Herringbone Half Double crochet stitch, a simple variation of the regular Half Double crochet and gives it a slanted, pebbled, textured feel. Perfect for this fuzzy yarn! "
