Tilted Heart Tote

Other supplies needed: Leisure Arts Diamond Art Heart Kit Hole Punch (approx. 1/4”/6mm hole) Purse Handles Fabric for lining (optional) The Tilted Heart Tote is blingy, fun, roomy, and a unique combination of yarn and a very special fabric! Photo tutorial included! The Tilted Heart Tote features the Leisure Arts Diamond Kit in the Heart Design, which inspired the rest of the tote, and is clearly the centerpiece! While I took inspiration from the fabric in the Heart Design for my pattern, you could use this same idea for any of the Beginner Kits, which have a finished area of 8.7″ x 8.7″. Paliki Pocket Tote

Paliki means “small” in Hungarian (or so I'm told). And this pocket tote is small, but sturdy - perfect for when you need a bag that won't stretch out, keeping your farmer's market purchases safe and protected! A great addition to your usual assortment of bags, the Paliki Pocket Tote is the one that's “just right” for all those small special items! Wondering what a “pocket tote” is? It's a tote that folds up into itself, perfect for stashing in your purse or car so you always have it when you need it. This one also features a pretty ribbon woven through the handle. That's not just for looks - the ribbon keeps the handle from stretching out due to the weight of your goodies. And the double layer on the bottom adds even more stability to this handy crochet bag!

Simple Stripes Tote Bag

Bags are my favorite thing to design and make. They are just so fun and functional! For moms on the go in particular, we need a bag to put our own purse in, as well as snacks, a water bottle, maybe a coloring pad and crayons. No worries, mom, this bag will fit all that! It measures 14″ by 12″ and has a generously sized shoulder strap, measuring 2-1/2″ wide. Perhaps one of my favorite thing about crocheting up a bag, is when you are a little ways done with it, you have a place for your ball(s) of yarn! Cotton yarn makes a really sturdy, easy to wash bag, and is fairly inexpensive. This project is also a great way to use your “economical” (perhaps a little bit scratchy) acrylic yarn. This is a fairly simple, easy to work up bag, so it's accessible to crocheters of all levels. Happy hooking!

Random Stripes Tote

This Random Stripes Tote is a great bag to use for everyday errands. Feel free to make this crochet bag using one color yarn, or use a few colors to make a random stripe pattern as shown here. It's big enough to store a variety of items and the straps are 38 inches long, so this homemade bag can easily be carried as a crossbody bag. You can also felt this crochet bag to add strength and durability.

It's a quick bag; the easy construction and simple color changes make it a breeze to work up. The June Market Tote

The June Tote is a lightweight reusable bag great for your summer essentials or strolling through the farmer's market. Two handles allows this market tote to be handheld or slung over your shoulder. Make one, make two or make a few to keep on hand for the grocery store. I've included a photo tutorial on how to get this bag started. I used one of my favorite stitches, what I call the v-arch. It's just a v-stitch with ch 3 instead of ch 1, but I love it. I first used it in my summer poncho/coverup The Merletto Poncho.

Eve's Reversible Tote Bag

This tote bag is completely reversible. It is worked as one piece on a base and then seamed together to make it fully reversible. I added purchased faux leather handles, but of course if you prefer, you could crochet handles instead. The first side is worked in a basic chevron with a modification for a fun look. The second side has a tapestry look. The bag is nicely sized at approximately 12″ x 13″ not including the handles, but it is easy enough to increase or decrease sizing."
