Featuring 2 colorful shades of chunky yarn gives this crochet blanket a gorgeous marbled effect. Stitched in 7 panels of alternating textures and colors, this seamed blanket is irresistibly thick and cozy.
This project works up quickly using front and back post double crochet and half double crochet through the third loop. Customize the pattern with any 2 colors, or even increase the size by adding more panels.
Soft And Sweet Textured Velvet Crochet Blanket
"This soft and sweet textured velvet crochet blanket feels like it should be used in an expensive hotel SPA. Use modern crochet stitches paired with Bernat Baby Velvet yarn to crochet this luxurious throw. Soft and Squishy Afghan The combination of front post double crochet and back post double crochet paired with this silky yarn create a soft and squishy Afghan. When my daughter ran her hands across this blanket, she snuggled her face against the yarn. She said the fluffy and soft blanket was the plushest feeling one yet. We think it is because of the added texture created by the crochet stitches and the fluffy yarn. Pair this bulky yarn with the right stitch and you have a winner. The pattern is a two-row repeat consisting of a row of single crochet, which ads a bit of stability to the entire project. The next row uses a special stitch pattern alternating the front post double crochet and back post double crochet stitches."
Triple Textures Afghan
Earlier this year I designed the Triple Textures 12″ Afghan Square for the Moogly 2020 crochet along. During the CAL, several crocheters asked if I could size grade the 12″ afghan square into a crochet blanket.
This is how the Triple Textures Afghan came to be! If you are a visual learner, I have a video tutorial for the Triple Textures 12″ afghan square that you can use for this crochet afghan to help you along the way!
Snowy Field Crochet Blanket
"This snowy field crochet blanket is one of those easy crochet patterns that are a joy to make once you get started. With the half double crochet v-stitch pattern that is finished off with a front and back post double crochet. I just love how this blanket turned out. Years ago, I would have just made wide stripes all the same size; however, the more modern look is to have varying sizes of stripes. This crochet pattern does have repeating rows for an easy pattern, but I still think that this blanket has a very modern look to it. The crochet border is very easy to achieve with the front and back post double crochet. "
Tons of Texture Chevron Baby Blanket
"Chunky, soft, ridges, and popcorn… this baby blanket is filled with textures that tiny fingers will love. Finished size is approximately 28”X36”. To make a wider blanket, simply increase the starting chain, or to make it longer repeat the rows. Pattern combines half double crochet stitches, single crochet stitches, popcorn stitches, and "back loop only" stitches to achieve a variety of texture. That, paired with soft and cozy yarns makes it a great gift for baby showers, new babies, and/or lapghans."
Cozy Winter Blanket
Finally, here is a less complicated monochromatic blanket that shows how shades of winter can be simple. However, even though it's simple, it's still beautiful and cozy. Better still, crocheting in the front loop and the back loop is all you need to know to make this wonderful piece.
