Say hello to Spring with these super easy crochet placemats! The pattern is the same as the Block Party blanket from Missed Stitches, but is set in colors inspired by the Heavenly Blue Morning Glory flower. There is no special stitch! Everything is done with specific placement of rows of double crochets. You can choose any colors you like for your set, or even just do two colors instead of three! Red, White, and Blue Plarn Crochet Placemats
Placemats like these would make a fabulous addition to your outdoor picnic table, especially when celebrating holidays like Memorial Day and the 4th of July. They are made with plarn, an interesting material to upcycle for use in crocheting placemats. This free pattern also comes with instructions for complementary plarn coasters.
Note that it's not recommended to use these placemats for hot dishes, but they're ideal when serving sandwiches, salad, pickles, or other similar picnic fares. Best of all, plarn is easy to make (for free) using readily available materials. And of course, you could opt to use different plastic bag colors to make similar crochet placemats without the red, white, and blue theme.

Mandala Placemat
If you are looking for the perfect wedding gift, housewarming gift or just a nice way to personalize your table, the Mandala Placemat pattern is for you. It is worked in the round, changing color for each round. Materials I used the following materials for this pattern: 3 mm hook Cotton yarn: In total, you will need 2 50g skeins of Schachenmayr Catania Originals per placemat. They have 96 colors for this yarn, you'll definitely find some for your placemats. I used 10 different colors but you can choose as many or as few you want. T-pins for blocking. Size The finished size of one placemat is 37 cm. It has taken me a lot of time and trial and error to decide on the best size. It had to be big enough so you can enjoy it when the table is set but not take too much room on the table so you can still seat people. So 37cm it is. Abbreviations I use UK notations. sl = slip stitch ch = chain dc = double crochet tr = treble crochet dtr = double treble crochet puff = puff stitch.
