This gorgeous, vintage inspired blanket has amazing square motifs, that reminded Carmen Heffernan of Edelweiss flowers. Feel free to use any kind of worsted yarn for it, however aran yarn will do really great. The blankie on the pictures below is made with 20 squares and the finished size is 33 x 42 inches 84cm x 107cm.

When it's cold and dark outside, all we want to do, is to snuggle under a cosy blankie with your favorite beverage and a book, or TV show. This sweet blankie will allow you to do that! Well, I mean, you can just the finished squares on the pictures below, but they make the best base for a blanket! So make sure to check it out!
Heart Pixel Art Square
Though a little time consuming, pixel art projects are so fun! I think I like most that it kind of resembles a quilt, but also that it uses my favorite join-as-you method - the Pull Loop Through Method! Makes for an easy join, and no worrying about how to assemble later - can't say I enjoy sewing squares together. BUT! If you do, you could always make the squares separately, and then use the mattress stitch (or your preferred technique) to join them later. WHAT CAN YOU DO WITH THIS SQUARE? It's the perfect size for a 16 throw pillow, use it as an afghan square, and build a blanket, add more squares all around to make a larger blanket, use it as a doily, attach it to a dowel rod, and hang it, use it as the star of the show for a sweater/top, even changing up the weight of yarn used will open doors!
Teddy Bear Square
Make this beautiful Teddy Bear Square for your little bundle of joy. This crochet afghan square is only nine inches in size. Make multiple squares to get your gorgeous blanket put together. Combine this crochet granny square with other granny square designs to make a truly one-of-a-kind crocheted afghan. Teddy bears are a classic baby theme that works well for both boys and girls. Use any color yarn you want to work up this free granny square pattern.
Mingle Square
This splendid little crochet granny square is a perfect pattern to use in your next quilt or granny square afghan project!
From the blogger:"Here's another great new 6" granny square design! I just love granny squares and I knew I needed to make a few of my own. The Mingle Square measures 6" when using an H hook. This square would be great for shawls or lacy afghans! It's a simple, yet fun square; the dcs mingle nicely with clusters! This pattern calls for worsted weight yarn in any fiber of your choice! However, this could be worked up in any weight to change the finished measurement."
