Beautiful Ocean Shell Blanket - Free Pattern
If you are looking for a crochet blanket that combines beauty and simplicity, you might want to try the Beautiful Shells Crochet Blanket. This pattern has been around for a long time and has many variations, but the basic idea is to create a stunning shell stitch pattern with different colors of yarn. The shell stitch is easy to learn and creates a lovely texture and drape for your blanket. You can make this blanket in any size you want, from a baby blanket to a king size bedspread. The best part is that you can use any yarn you like, as long as you match the hook size to the yarn weight. The full article about the pattern is available on Ravelry. More info about...
Group Stitch Baby Blanket
"This crochet baby blanket is considered a beginner friendly pattern. It is crocheted with a lightweight DK weight yarn from Paintbox Yarns. However, any comparable yarn will work for this pattern. This blanket is crocheted entirely with a Group Stitch, otherwise known as a Cluster Stitch. It is worked in simple back and forth rows that are turned after every row. This blanket can be worked all in one color, in a striped pattern or in a color block pattern that you see in the pictures. This baby blanket is simple yet stylish with a gorgeous texture."
Tried and True Beginner Blanket
I have been teaching beginners (read: novice/first time crocheters) to crochet for a couple of years. My favorite projects are any that include a super bulky yarn and a 15 mm hook. Why? These projects can be started and finished in one class and the beginner can leave with a hat on their head (or a cowl around their neck). I designed this blanket with the true beginner in mind. Maybe you took a class, or a friend taught you the single crochet. You've made a stack of hats, but you want more! This is the project for you. You will learn the four basic stitches and how to work in rows (working in rows is a beginner skill, but I don't like teaching it for a first time crocheter). I have added notes here and there to help guide you and give you an understanding on the basics of pattern-reading. I have also included a full photo tutorial for each stitch to help you along your way.
The Animal-a-Long CAL Afghan

Corner to Corner crochet, to make a great Afghan/ blanket. Full instructions with colours and yarns listed on the blog, but also great for using up your stash. Links with how to C2C included, and a full alphabet for you to change the words at the top to make it more personal."
Primrose Crochet Blanket
The primrose blanket is a floral design, perfect for cooling summer evenings but also great as a crib blanket or stroller blanket. Its made out of a slowly variegating yarn and a constant colour, used for joining and bordering. The variegating yarn will make each flower unique, and together they form a summery blanket! This pattern calls for 5 skeins of Scheepjeswol Invicta colour, and 4 skeins of Invicta extra. It is worked with a 3,0 mm crochet needle. The pattern is join-as-you-go, so you can choose to work up a few motives first, but if thats not your cup of tea you can also choose to add new motives to the growing blanket immediately. The choice is yours! The finished blanket measures 80 x 120 cm. However, with a couple of extra skeins you can easily make a large blanket. The joining and border are both modular and will accomodate every size. So no worries!
