Merry Go Round Crochet Blanket

The Merry-Go-Round blanket is a lovely design that is perfect to show off the beautiful color changes in ombre yarn, such as yarn cakes and self striping yarn. Like a Merry-Go-Round, this patterns rounds go around and around, worked in continuous spirals without joining. The repetitive pattern is both fun and therapeutic to crochet, and easy to get a hang of in just a few rounds. The size of the blanket can easily be adjusted to be however large or small as you'd like, depending on how much yarn you use.

Winter Woven Throw

This crochet throw blanket features a woven classic texture that will be treasured for years to come. The stitch used is sometimes referred to as a twisted stitch because of its twisted and women appearance. This blanket is crocheted using a super bulky weight yarn. It is shown in Lion Brand Thick and Quick. You will also need 10 mm crochet hook. Each of the shorter ends of the blanket are finished off with a fringe.

Twisted Grid Chunky Crochet Blanket Pattern

Featuring 2 colorful shades of chunky yarn gives this crochet blanket a gorgeous marbled effect. Stitched in 7 panels of alternating textures and colors, this seamed blanket is irresistibly thick and cozy.

This project works up quickly using front and back post double crochet and half double crochet through the third loop. Customize the pattern with any 2 colors, or even increase the size by adding more panels.

Jagged Scrap Yarn Afghan

For this project you will need: HOOK: 5 mm hook or size H hook for the US YARN: All the scrap yarn colors were worsted weight yarn 4 ply US, 10 ply AU Also the Off white color I used in between as well. I was able to get 10 rows of Off white before I had to change to a new skein. I used 2 and a 1/2 skeins of it, but I didn’t make a border. If you wish to, then I would grab a third. I didn’t want to use much of this color because it's a scrap yarn afghan and don't want you to have to go get more yarn. About the color pattern Since this pattern uses scrap yarn, I won't be telling you which colors to use. I used this color wheel to help me organize my color choices. I've never been a fan of the mixed color of scrap yarn afghans so I decided to do mine in a more organized fashion starting with my Maroons, Reds, Oranges, Browns, Yellows, Golds, Greens, Blues, Purples, Pinks and back to the beginning of the color list. Feel free to go with what feels right to you. This Jagged Scrap yarn afghan is made using a stitch I discovered while playing around with yarn. I don't know why all my discovered stitches mostly use two stitches to create and this one is no different. Lol. But other than the butterfly stitch this one is surely the most easiest one to recreate! Let me take you step by step on how to make this stitch so you can use it in making your own scrap yarn afghan to use up some of your left over wool.

Summer Garden Flower Baby Blanket

"The Summer Garden Flower Blanket is not an easy pattern, but the result is spectacular. A field of flowers in 3 different shades of pink surrounded by a border of green leaves. The blanket is made out of simple flower hexagons sewed together with the invisible seam technique. The blanket edging is made with the leaf stitch border. To avoid having too many ends to weave in, crochet over the magic ring end tail. Sew the hexagons in strips then sew the strips to each other."

Tried and True Beginner Blanket

I have been teaching beginners (read: novice/first time crocheters) to crochet for a couple of years. My favorite projects are any that include a super bulky yarn and a 15 mm hook. Why? These projects can be started and finished in one class and the beginner can leave with a hat on their head (or a cowl around their neck). I designed this blanket with the true beginner in mind. Maybe you took a class, or a friend taught you the single crochet. You’ve made a stack of hats, but you want more! This is the project for you. You will learn the four basic stitches and how to work in rows (working in rows is a beginner skill, but I don't like teaching it for a first time crocheter). I have added notes here and there to help guide you and give you an understanding on the basics of pattern-reading. I have also included a full photo tutorial for each stitch to help you along your way.
